Background

Total Custom Conversions had already built a strong reputation for high-spec, handcrafted campervan conversions. Their talented in-house team handled everything from bespoke layouts to custom upholstery, with a clear passion for detail and design. But while the quality of their work spoke for itself in person, their brand and online presence weren’t doing it justice.

As the campervan market became more crowded, with budget competitors and the rise of the DIY self-build scene, they found it increasingly difficult to stand out.

They didn’t just want more customers – they wanted the right customers. The team was ready to focus on the luxury and custom side of the business, and needed a brand that matched the quality of their builds.

Objectives

Our brief was twofold: first, to help tell the full story of what made Total Custom different, from the craftsmanship and design expertise to the premium materials and finishes, and second, to reposition the business so it clearly sat apart from budget conversions and mass-market competitors.

The goal was to attract a more discerning audience: customers who valued bespoke work, were willing to invest in high-quality conversions, or were looking for made-to-order kits and components for their own high-end builds.

What We Did

We were initially brought in to elevate their social media presence, focusing on storytelling, behind-the-scenes content, and showcasing the skill, care, and creativity that went into every van. That alone started to shift perception and attract more interest from the right kind of buyers.

But as we worked more closely with the team, it became clear that a full rebrand was the logical next step. We developed a completely new look and feel for Total Custom, a brand identity that captured the premium, professional nature of the business without losing its down-to-earth personality.

With the rebrand complete, we focused on generating high-quality content to match, from cinematic video and professional photography to real-time behind-the-scenes snippets that showed the process and people behind each project.

The final piece was the website. We designed and built a new online home that didn’t just showcase the brand, but supported the next phase of their growth, including a fully integrated ecommerce platform to sell their in-house kits and parts. Alongside this, we introduced targeted advertising to drive the right people to the right products, increasing both visibility and conversion.

The Results

Total Custom’s brand now matches the calibre of their work. They’ve carved out a more distinctive space in the market – one that clearly appeals to customers looking for bespoke quality over cookie-cutter conversions.

Their social media presence has evolved into a powerful storytelling tool, bringing in consistent, relevant engagement and giving potential clients a true sense of the experience they’re investing in.
